Made of Us is a 30-page coloring book featuring original artwork by Kara Crowley and Wyntress X’ion, Artists in Residence with the Classically Black Arts Foundation.
More than a coloring book, Made of Us is an invitation to explore creativity, celebrate individuality, and experience art through a new lens. Each illustration offers an opportunity to connect with the artists' unique perspectives while adding your own interpretation through color.
Every copy of Made of Us helps sustain the Classically Black Arts Foundation's 2026–2027 Artist Residency Program at Sesh Coworking in Houston, which provides five Black visual artists with dedicated space, resources, and opportunities to advance their professional careers.
Proceeds from the coloring book help fund:
Direct Artist Compensation: Financial support for participating Artists in Residence, recognizing the value of their creative labor and allowing them to dedicate more time to their artistic practice.
Art Supplies & Production Materials: Essential materials needed to create new works, experiment with techniques, and develop ambitious projects.
Exhibitions & Professional Exposure: Opportunities for resident artists to showcase and sell their work, including the residency's culminating group exhibition in February 2027.
Community Arts Programming: Artist-led workshops and creative experiences that connect Houston residents with local Black artists and make art more accessible.
